Recording Seminar or Conferences - Maximize Your Profits Today

By Robert Jones

No one who has put together a seminar or conference will say it just 'falls into place' - No, it takes work and effort to have a great seminar. Yet, with all that work done people often forget a crucial part - capturing the seminar itself! You have put in significant time and money - why not make sure you get every dollar back through recording the content of the seminar. Don't forget about the content your participants offer too.

Recorded Seminars are Valuable Assets

Capturing the seminar isn't just about improving your own seminar or conference skills - though that is a great benefit of having it recorded. No, it is more about being able to offer a valuable asset to your customer base. Some of them will be interested in your seminar but unavailable. Why not make the audio available for a fee (or free as a sales incentive).

You may be thinking that recording a high quality version of the seminars is just too hard. Well, you would be wrong. With the right equipment and a bit of forethought you can get a great audio capture of your seminar and the discussions. Not only that, you can quickly offer the audio online or in various formats (CDs, MP3, etc). That's the key - get it out there quickly so that people are eager to buy.

Consent To Record - Check With a Lawyer and Do This!

When it comes to making money off of other people's comments, it is always best to provide a little CYA. So, when people sign up for your seminar or conference, just make sure that you include a clause stating that they are releasing all rights and claims to any of the content they provide or conversations they are involved with. Of course, you want to be up front about it. Nothing to hide here - just be honest that you are recording and that you reserve the right to use the recording how you see fit. This is not legal advice, so make sure you run it by a lawyer who can properly advise you on how to do this. Better safe than sorry, right?

Choosing The Right Equipment

When it comes to recording an entire room, there is really just one option - the Zoom H2 Handy Portable Stereo Recorder. It provides W-XY recording pattern, and if you dont know what that means just know that it helps cover the entire room with 4 mic capsules in one small, portable unit. You will not be disappointed with the quality.
