The Proud Rebel: Well presented post Civil War research of 2-fisted Southerner Ladd desiring medical help for mute child (played by Ladd's actual child).Olivia de Havilland is the female who tames him. The Thief of Paris: Intense comedy-drama with personal problems turning Belmondo to thievery for reprisal against the world. Eventually he finds that robbery has become his entire life. Each Dawn I Die: Journalist Cagney is framed, and sent to the penitentiary where he meets a tough inmate, Raft. There is excellent acting all around.
