One of the many things you must consider before you get started and the most important one is the kind of business you want to run. This is the most important decision you can make in determining your success.

The internet offers many ideas for starting a home business. Let's take a look at some other ideas that do not involve the internet that you could do.

1. Sell Stuff on Craig's List

A unique alternative to eBay, Craig's List allows you to sell products in your local market. Take a trip to the flea markets, garage sales and estate sales and you may find tremendous bargains that you turn around and advertise for sale on Craig's List. You can sell anything from soup to nuts and anything in between.

Find bargains on Craig's List and then remarket them with a different approach for a higher price. Of course you may end up with products that don't sell so you can then run your own garage sale. Remember to keep accounts of what you paid for all your items so you can sell at a profit when you resell.

2. Start A Day Care Business

Earn money from home with a day care business. Save what you would spend on day care for your own children and make additional money at the same time by taking in some other children to care for. You may need a license to run a day care business from your home but this can be a lucrative, rewarding business. You will be providing a valuable service for families not as fortunate as you who have to go to work outside their homes.

3. Drop By Pet Walking and Sitting

Are pets on your hot list? Often people with pets have to travel for their work. Others go on vacation to places where they can't take their pets. Turn your affinity for pets into a business where you stop by and feed and play with their pets. Take them for walks and make sure they are ok. Sometimes taking a pet to a kennel is not an option and people are willing to pay well to ensure their pets are well cared for.

Their pets are another member of their family and you will take care of a big concern for them when they have to leave town.

There you have it, three business ideas you can implement. If you put your thinking cap on, you can probably come up with some more. Beginning a home based business can be a great way to make money and have a lot of fun at the same time if you like what you do.
