Looking For A Impressive Movie? Check Out These Excellent Movie Opinions

By Don Frank

So when you are in the frame of mind for a frightening horror movie and a romantic comedy shows up, well that is a problem. Another thing is that at least with the mail-in subscription that we had they didn't always offer the new releases. So if we really wanted to see one of the newer shows we have do wait anyway or try the dvd/video store once more.

Alfie - Well redone version of Bill Naughton play he additionally authored. Caine is marvelous as philandering Cockney playboy who is put in a very demanding situation. Cast includes Michael Caine, Shelley Winters, Millicent Marin, Julia Foster, Jane Asher, Shirley Anne Field, Graham Stark, and Murray Melvin. (114 minutes,'66)

The All-American Boy - Disorderly drama in reference to Olympic aspirant Voight's effort to be a triumphant boxer; eye-catching locations of northern California, but that's all. Cast includes Jon Voight, Ned Glass, Anne Archer, and Carol Androsky. (104 minutes,'89)

Sugar Town - Compelling variety of LA life characterizing a handful of characters whose lives fit together - a musician hopeful who will do anything to get ahead, an uptight lone woman who allures the wrong men like a magnet, and a band made up of cleaned-up '80s rock stars, to name a few. Made on a shoestring, although intelligent and well recognized; tremendous cast comprises a variety of real life musicians. Cast includes Ally Sheedy, Rosanna Arquette, John Taylor, Jade Gordon, Michael Des Barres, Lucinda Jenney, and Martin Kemp. (92 minutes,'99)

Dracula - Depressing retelling of the Bram Stoker classic, with Langella's esteemed Broadway depiction lost among trendy terror gimmicks and ill-imagined modifications in the original tale. The movie was filmed in England. Cast includes Frank Langella, Laurence Olivier, Donald Pleasence, Kate Nelligan, Trevor Eve, Janine Duvitski, and Tony Haygarth. (109 minutes,'79)

Solar Crisis: Futuristic sci-fi thriller with Matheson leading a save the Earth mission to the sun to stop a solar flash from annihilating the world. Fine visual effects and exciting tale in space harmed by world pranks of poor boy Boyle who outrageously wants to challenge the mission. Cast includes Tim Matheson, Charlton Heston, Peter Boyle, and Annabel Schofield. (112 minutes,'90)

So we tried a mail subscription. It sounded like it might work well. Just fill up your queue and pick up your movies at the mailbox. The only dilemma was that if the first movie that you wanted wasn't available then they would mail the second movie or the third movie on your list in its place.
