Celtic Jewellery - This Is Where Ancient History And Magic Meet

By Robert Brown

The Celtic art belongs to the Celtics that lived in Europe around 500 B.C. These tribes lived mostly in Europe and their main home was Ireland and Scotland. They gave rise to various art forms that are still popular today.

The most famous designs are the spirals, knots and swirls. They have often swirling lines flowing around. The Celtics believed that everything is connected in life. So their beliefs are reflected from their designs where various swirling lines cross and connect.

There are many knots designs about marriage and love knots. Celtic crosses have four arms that reflect their belief that all things are interconnected with each other and nothing is isolated.

The Celtic cross was a pagan symbol that represented the four elements of the earth. But with time, it came to be known as more of a religious symbol associated with Christianity. Animals also form an important part in the Celtic jewellery.

Animal designs were used in various art forms and jewellery items during the Celtic era. These were widely used and represent the ancient European historical designs. These are also being used on various jewellery items these days.

Various types of rings, pendants, bracelets and other items are available. Celtic silver jewellery is very popular. It is delicate and has to be carefully cleaned to remove the tarnished spots.

Irish Celtic Jewellery is the most popular. There is also a sense of magic associated with it. It does not have to be worn only on special occasions. It can be worn on all occasions and there are various designs available to suit every wardrobe.

Celtic designs have been around for thousands of years and still growing in popularity. Heavier jewellery items suit the evening wears and light items can be worn during the day. So you can add a bit of uniqueness and magic to your wardrobe with these.
